Dayna's testimony

Yesterday I gave a testimony of God's love and protection in my life at the Gospel concert. I wrote it out ahead of time and had Barb and Kelly read over it and give me advice. I talked about how God loves me and that I can talk freely to him. I also shared a story about how God showed me that He cares about me by raising up a young man to escort me home one night when I stayed three weeks in Bretagne several years ago. It is so comforting to know that God is watching out for me and that He doesn't forget about me even though there are so many other people in the world.
On this trip I have noticed that many of the experiences I have had in the past have prepared me for this adventure. Singing Christman carols and Irish dancing at nursing homes when I was younger has prepared me for visiting with the elderly at the nursing homes after our gospel concerts. The Paris Prayer Conference from 2008 taught me about missions in France. Staying several days with French families has helped me understand French culture and daily life a little better than I would have otherwise. Organizing a French class last summer and hosting a spaghetti dinner to raise support for this trip has given me practice in leadership. And of course, all my French lessons and past trips to France has allowed me to be able to lead crafts and do a little translating for other team members. Plus I've loved crafts since I was a child and I am so thankful that my VBS role is one that I love. It is so exciting to see everything coming together. It really shows how God can prepare us years in advance for the work He has for us.
